English Youth Ballet’s Swan Lake

Set in Russia at the time when the Marinsky Ballet was popular with the Tsar, Swan Lake will be a traditional production but with particular emphasis on the rivalry between the beautiful but vulnerable White Swan, Odette, and the seductively evil Black Swan, Odile, as they compete for the affections of the Prince. A rivalry that leads to a tragic and dramatic finale. The policy of English Youth Ballet is to perform full length productions of classical ballet in the regional theatres of the UK, and to give young dancers outside London an opportunity to perform within a professional setting.
