Museum Collections

The Castle Museum and Art Gallery opened in 1878. This vibrant museum and art gallery houses collections of decorative arts, armour, paintings and over 15th centuries of Nottingham history.

Decorative Arts

The collection includes ceramics, glass, silver and jewellery. The Joseph Collection of mainly 18th century Wedgwood Jasperware is one of the largest and finest in the world.

Families at the Castle 

Nottingham Castle is a great place to bring the family. The museum features interactive displays and Beyond the Sea, an activity led gallery specifically for the under 8s that brings paintings to life. A medieval style playground with undercover picnic area on the Castle green adds to the family offer, making for a fun packed day out whatever the weather.
