Nottingham has active links with the following cities:

We also have formal, though less active links with:

Some of these links are longstanding: our twinning with Karlsruhe celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2009. The partnership with Timisoara is the most recent, being signed in October 2008.

Creative Twinning is a partnership of Nottingham designers interested in creating new opportunities with our Creative Twin counterparts and bringing new ideas to Nottingham. There is more information on the Creative Twinning page.

Nottingham City Council is actively engaged in economic development work with the city of Karlsruhe. We are also engaged with Ningbo particularly through the University of Nottingham campus there.  We can also help to provide opportunities for local businesses in Europe and are involved in a number of EU funded projects with European partners.
