Nottingham City Council on September 10^th 2012 received approval from the Secretary of State (SoS) for the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) regarding Nottingham City Councils request to grant a direction to help control the appearance of letting boards for residential properties in certain areas of the City.  The following documents can be found to the right of this page

The Direction will come into force on the 17 October 2012.

New Design Guidance for Letting Boards

Nottingham City Council has produced new guidance to help control the appearance of letting boards in certain areas of the City where their display is considered to have a detrimental effect.  Click here to view a copy of the Design Guidance for Letting Boards. [3Mb]

The final design guidance sets out criteria for boards such as size, font, and colour, as well as the way in which board should be displayed and when they should be displayed within the proposed letting board control area. .

Please Note that the Guidance maps are currently being updated in line with DCLG's decision. The criteria however, remains the same.

The City Council will require letting boards in the proposed area to comply with the guidance when the direction comes into force on the 17 October 2012.
