Rooms available at The Council House

From the magnificent splendour of the Ballroom to the more intimate setting of the Sheriff's Parlour, The Council House can accommodate ceremonies of various sizes. Discover the fine rooms on offer, along with fees and further details.

Watch a tour of the beautiful rooms available at the Council House for your special day. The tour is conducted by Hilary Silvester of the Nottingham Civic Society.

  • Notice of Marriage/Civil Partnership: £35 each
  • Certificate of Marriage/Civil Partnership: £4 each

Deposits:

  • A deposit of £25 is required to book a ceremony at the Council House*
  • A deposit of £50 is required to book a ceremony at an approved premise*

The balance is payable one month before the ceremony and no refunds will be given for cancelled ceremonies within one month of the date. However, if a ceremony is rearranged no further fee will be payable.

*Please note, while you can pay a deposit or for your service with cash, we do not accept £50 notes.

Please note: Customers can still get married at the Register Office for the statutory fee of £45, which provides a basic ceremony with 2 witnesses. However, in order to use one of the ceremonial rooms there is an extra charge incurred.  A ceremony at the statutory fee is available Monday to Thursday.
